Sex in Your City
64Why Did She Tell Me She Was a Virgin?
A few months ago, on a cold wintry night, I felt the urge to venture out to an upscale lounge in the city. I put on a sweater and leather jacket and walked briskly to the lounge. The wind was chilly and it whipped against my face. I finally arrived at the bar around 10 and wadded through the gathering crowd to an empty bar stool. Since I am a regular I gave the sexy bartender a warm "hello," and then we shared some small talk. She poured my usual Jack and Coke and I began to sip it slowly and the warmth of the alcohol brought my extremities back to life. I casually talked to a few women and found they were single and were on a girl's night out and they would be leaving soon. An hour past and more attractive people were surrounding the bar. This place oozed sex. I noticed that the men in the crowd were in their fifties and wore the look of desperation. I think they had hopes of meeting someone and leaving with them.
I still eyed the crowd but I did not see anyone that was interesting enough to talk to. However, there were these two women next to me and we started a casual conversation about the usual boring shit that comes across your lips when you meet someone new. Anyway, I paired off with this woman named Anne, we spoke for about an hour and before I realized it we were holding hands. She moved pretty fast and it honesty caught me off guard. Usually I take charge of the situation and make the first move, but this night was different. Our conversation tuned to sex and dating and she casually told me she was 22. Anne was busty and about 5"7 with long brown hair and dark eyes. She finished off a couple more Pi-not Grisos and then she confessed that she was still a virgin! My mouth must have dropped because I was speechless. My first question was obviously why? She said she was waiting for the right time. I asked her how she got through college without having sex? She gave me another answer that seemed illogical, but I tried not to judge her. But I was turned off. I did not want to be her first, and why did she share this personal info with me? Was she proud of it or did she want to make it clear that she wasn't having sex that night? Why was she holding my hand? She gave me her number, but the following day I texted her and said that I could not date her because she was a virgin and this would not be fair to either of us. I guess I'll never know. I have not seen Anne since.
